14 DAY TRIAL // As expected, Finnish mobile games developer and publisher Rovio has released the sequel to its smash hit Angry Birds. The new Angry Birds 2 is now available for download on both Android and iOS platform.
According to Rovio, there are no plans to bring Angry Birds 2 to Windows Phone, or Windows 10 at least, which is a bit of a disappointment.
Since Microsoft has just released its new OS, it would have been a major marketing success if Rovio had released Angry Birds 2 on Windows 10 as well.
Anyway, those who own Android and/or iOS devices will now be able to download Rovio's latest installment in the Angry Birds franchise.
“While retaining the much-loved slingshot format, the visuals and gameplay of Angry Birds 2 have been overhauled from the ground up, with multiple stages in each level and spectacular new spells - including blizzards, magic ducks and even hot chili peppers - to wield against the pigs, rock the Destruct-O-Meter and earn even more birds.”
“Fans also can challenge other gamers worldwide and, for the first time, choose their own fowl to fling,” explains Rovio in a blog post.
Players can now choose which bird to fling next
So, while Angry Birds 2 retains the addictive gameplay of the first game, it allows players to choose which bird to fling next. However, that won't make the game easier since players will have to choose wisely if they plan on stopping the eggs from getting scrambled.
In addition, players will have to destroy blocks to fill up the Destruct-O-Meter and earn extra birds that will be useful in later stages.
You can now download Angry Birds 2 for Android for free via Google Play Store. The game should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 4.0 and up.
For iOS users, the game can be downloaded for free via App Store. It should work smoothly on all devices running iOS 7.0 or later.
