Maybe he’s angry because he no longer has a headphone jack?

Ever wanted to walk into an Apple store and destroy everything you see with a steel ball? No? This guy did and because we’re always encouraged to make our dreams come true, this is exactly what he did in an Apple Store in France.

While details on why exactly he did that are quite vague at this point, it looks like the angry Apple customer decided to take revenge on Apple for its poor customer support by destroying everything in his way in a store in Dijon, France.

The videos recorded by someone who caught the entire show, embedded at the end of this article, present the man calmly walking in and checking out some of the devices on display before eventually starting destroying them with what seems to be a steel ball.

Police took him into custody, now having to pay thousands of Euros

In case you’re wondering who carries a steel ball around, it appears that Petanque players do, as this is a game that involves throwing a super heavy steel ball as close as possible to another smaller ball made from wood.

After smashing a few iPhones, iPods, and at least a MacBook Air, the man tries to walk out of the store just as calmly as he stepped in, but this time also trying to win the bonus round and get past security.

The same videos show him attempting to run away at least once, although that’s quite impossible after destroying so many expensive products, and reports coming from local media reveal that, eventually, he was taken into custody by the police.

Little is known about his motivation for destroying the Apple store, but it appears that he was kind of angry with the way customer support treated him before. Or maybe, just maybe, he was angry with Apple’s decision to remove the headphone jack. Just saying.

UPDATE, October 27: The man who destroyed the Apple store received a six-month suspended sentence in jail and is on probation for the next two years. He's also forbidden from entering the mall where it went bananas, and has to pay €17,548 ($19,000) in damages.
