However, she is in no rush to make the move permanent yet

Angelina Jolie wants to slowly retire from acting so she can focus exclusively on directing and writing. She’s been threatening this move for a while now, dropping massive hints in countless interviews, but it seems that she has other plans that are just as important and that she’s not talking about.

For instance, she wants to get more involved in EU politics, a new report in Us Weekly claims. With this goal in mind, she and husband Brad Pitt have been house hunting in London as of June this year. So far, they found nothing to their liking.

Brangelina wants to relocate to the UK

In June, Brad and Angelina, or Brangelina as they’re dubbed in the press, toured a 7-bedroom Westminster mansion estimated at $39 million (€34.6 million). They liked what they saw but they consider it a bit too pricey for what they have in mind.

“It’s a huge investment. Neither of them wants to throw down that amount of cash,” an insider says. Even though they didn’t make an offer on the mansion and might never will, the plan remains to relocate to the UK so that Jolie can “slowly immerse herself in UE politics.”

Also in June, Angelina attended a few events as part of humanitarian work, focusing on illegal wildlife trade and a campaign to end sexual violence in war crimes. She met with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge too, and the results of this visit presumably made her see that there could be a future for her in politics.

In fact, rumors about her desire to go into politics have been around ever since she started her humanitarian work with UNHCR.

Angeline Jolie is determined to prove her worth as director first

The same report notes that, although a plan, the star is in no rush to carry it out. For the time being, she’s focused on her directorial work and she’s determined to prove her nay-sayers wrong.

Last year’s “Unbroken,” which she directed, got her plenty of buzz ahead of the Oscar season, but all that talk didn’t materialize in an actual nomination. This year, she’s coming out with “By the Sea,” which she also wrote and will star in opposite Brad Pitt.

Industry watchers say that “By the Sea” is Oscar-baity down to the smallest detail, from the fact that these 2 star together again, to the story Angelina came up for it, revolving around 2 partners who are slowly drifting apart.
