A few years ago, when asked if she had ever gotten any kind of work done on her face and body, Angelina Jolie said that she was 100% natural and would probably stay this way. According to Radar Online, either she had a change of heart or she was just saying that for show, because she’s gotten a lot of stuff done recently.

This doesn’t include the reconstructive surgery she had after the 2013 preventive double mastectomy, though. Experts who have not treated the star believe that most of her efforts were concentrated on her face, which has helped her remain one of the most beautiful and youthful-looking women in Hollywood even at 40.

A face and neck lift, Botox, fillers and treatments

If you know anything of Angelina Jolie, you know that she stays out of the sun as much as possible. Even when she’s on vacation with the kids and husband Brad Pitt, she will be photographed wearing dark clothes, which usually involved long skirts and long-sleeved tops, and wide-brimmed hats.

Chances are we will see pigs fly before we see paparazzi shots of Jolie by the pool, rocking a two-piece bikini and an enviable tan.

Because she’s in showbiz and she knows the importance of appearances and good looks, she must also stick to a strict beauty routine. She probably eats healthy and makes no kind of excesses, though she is a known smoker.

According to Beverly Hills aesthetic specialist, Zara Harutyunyan, R.N., that’s not all she does to banish wrinkles and maintain her flawless complexion.

“The rumors of a ribbon-threading facelift are possible for Angelina Jolie, because there has definitely been some improvement in her face,” Harutyunyan says. “She could have also had a non-surgical neck and face lift, which would give her similar results. This can be done with treatments such as Skin Tyte of Ultherapy, which is the FDA approved non-surgical treatment.”

Plastic surgeon Susan Evans agrees that Jolie looks as if she’s had work done, but her money is on fillers and Botox: fillers to accentuate the cheekbones and those famous lips, and Botox in the forehead.

Another plastic surgeon, Dr. Sheila Nazarian, notes that Jolie’s face doesn’t droop in the least, even though it’s natural in women in their 30s. Angelina is 40 and her face hasn’t changed a bit, which probably means she’s had work done.

An unforgiving industry

We might never know if Angelina has had any kind of work done, in addition to the reconstructive surgery on the breasts and a very likely nosejob when she was a teen. This kind of reports are a dime a dozen, especially with stars who “hold up” and age beautifully, so perhaps we should brace ourselves for more on Jolie.

The reality is that the industry is unforgiving towards women and men, but it’s more brutal towards women, who are often held under the microscope like this.

The worst part is that they can’t win no matter what they do: if they get work, they’re called out for it (particularly those women who once vouched they would never go under the knife); if they don’t, they’re publicly criticized for “letting themselves go.”
