Two weeks ago, we reported on ASUS starting rolling out the Android Wear 2.0 massive update to ASUS ZenWatch 3 smartwatch users, and, after a long wait, it looks like Google's latest Android Wear release is coming to ASUS ZenWatch 2.

We believe that ASUS ZenWatch 2 owners are likely drooling to get the Android Wear 2.0 on their smartwatches, and it would appear that ASUS finally kept its promise and is now seeding the major update to these devices, too. Android Wear 2.0 is supported on both ASUS ZenWatch 2 models, including the smaller 45mm version.

Android Wear 2.0 is a must have update for all smartwatch users

Android Wear 2.0 is a major software update that comes with lots of cool new features, including Android Pay support, the Google Assistant intelligent personal assistant, support for standalone apps and a standalone Play store, the long-anticipated material design for the UI, and support for custom watch faces.

Additionally, Android Wear 2.0 sports an on-screen keyboard, new fitness challenges, much-improved notifications, a new darker design, rotational input support, the ability to send quick replies to messages, as well as lots of under-the-hood performance optimizations for greater battery life and UX.

If you own either the ASUS ZenWatch 2 (1.63'') or the ASUS ZenWatch 2 (1.45'') models, you are invited to install the Android Wear 2.0 update if you want to enjoy better battery life on your Linux-powered smartwatch, and all those goodies that ASUS ZenWatch 3 users are already enjoying for some time now.

In addition to ASUS ZenWatch 2 and ASUS ZenWatch 3, Android Wear 2.0 is available for LG Watch Sport, LG Watch Style, LG G Watch R, LG Watch Urbane, Fossil Q Founder, Fossil Q Wander, Fossil Q Marshal, Casio Smart Outdoor Watch, Tag Heuer Connected, Polar M600, Nixon Mission, Huawei Watch, Huawei Watch Ladies, Huawei Watch 2, New Balance RunIQ, Moto 360 Gen 2, and Michael Kors ACCESS smartwatches.
