Microsoft Edge gets Windows Timeline support in latest beta

Microsoft Edge for Android has just received another beta update that brings support for Windows Timeline, the main new feature coming to Windows 10 users with the release of Redstone 4.

While it’s important to keep in mind that this feature is still in beta-testing stage, so not everything might work exactly as expected, Timeline support in Microsoft Edge makes it possible for users to have the browsing history synced with their Windows 10 PCs.

This means that as part of Timeline, Windows 10 users can restore a browsing session even if it started on an Android device, as long as it happened within the last 30 days.

On PCs, Windows Timeline does much more than that, and it can restore a full snapshot that includes activities like apps and documents. In other words, you can return to a specific point in time and have all your activities brought back to screen automatically.

Windows Timeline on iOS

Windows Timeline also debuted in the preview version of Microsoft Edge for iOS recently, and with this occasion, the software giant is making it available for all iPhone users, not only to those who are part of the TestFlight beta program.

While there’s no ETA for when Timeline for Edge on Android could graduate from beta, this is expected to happen very soon, especially as the debut of Windows 10 Redstone 4 is just around the corner. The new OS feature update is projected to land by the end of this month, and there’s a good chance it sees daylight today or tomorrow.

You can download the latest Microsoft Edge APK for Android with Timeline support using this link, while for iOS version, you need to launch the App Store here. In order to use the Timeline sync, you have to turn on the “Share history” option in Settings.
