Today, September 22, 2016, Softpedia was informed by Arne Exton about the immediate availability of an updated version of his popular, yet commercial AndEX Live system.

AndEX Build 160922 is now the latest and most advanced version available of the project that lets you run Google's Android mobile operating system on almost any personal computer, with a recent kernel version, custom software packages, and many other useful tools and tweaks.

"My compiled Android-x86_64 system (Marshmallow 6.0.1) can run live (from CD) or be installed on almost all laptops (and some Desktop computers). For example Acer (Aspire), HP, Samsung, Dell, Toshiba, Lenovo, Thinkpad, Fujitsu, Panasonic and Ausus laptops," says Arne Exton in today's announcement.

Here's what's new in AndEX Build 160922

The new version, AndEX Build 160922, ships with a recent build (version 4.4.20) of the latest long-term supported (LTS) kernel series, namely Linux 4.4, which has been injected with various patches and optimized to support more hardware platforms and devices.

For now, AndEX Live CD remains based on the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow mobile OS, but it includes the GAPPS package that lets you access all the important Google services, including YouTube, Google Maps, Google Calendar, Gmail, Google Play Store, as well as Google Play Services.

Among other pre-installed Android applications found in today's AndEX Build 160922 release, we can mention the Clash of Clans game and Aptoide App Manager, which can be used as an alternative to Google Play store in case you want to install some third-party Android apps that aren't in the official store.

AndEX Marshmallow Build 160922 replaces version 160220 of the project and it's based on the latest Android-x86 6.0-r1 release. AndEX Build 160922 is free for anyone using any of the previous releases, but it will cost $9 (€8) for a new purchase, which can be made through the author's website.
