The phone kept the bullet from entering his body

One of the things that Nokia phones were best known for was their sturdiness. At some point in the past, we shared with you the story of a Chinese citizen who was apparently saved from getting injured by a falling brick wall by his trusty Nokia device.

Well, it turns out that Nokia devices aren’t the only ones that can have your back in time of need. It’s the case of police officer Demar Muaña, who was on duty during a drug dealer bust and got shot.

Luckily, he had placed his ancient Samsung E1200 mobile telephone in the front pouch of his uniform. The bullet went for his chest, but the phone managed to cushion the blow. If it hadn’t been for the phone that intercepted the bullet, the life of the police officer would most likely have been in danger.

Muaña was still hit in the left arm by other bullets, but these injuries are not life threatening. As for the bullet that was dodged by the Samsung phone, it could have had pretty serious repercussions.

Samsung E1200 is the hero

The law enforcer is currently hospitalized in the Chong Hua Hospital in Cebu City, Philippines, where he will remain a while, until his injuries subside. Talking to Cabu Daily News, Muaña confessed that he was very scared and thought that he was going to die. Luckily, Samsung had his back.

The Samsung E1200 saw the light of day back in 2012, when smartphones weren’t the norm yet. The phone arrives with a tiny 1.52-inch display with ridiculous 128 x 128 pixel resolution (judging by today’s standards).

The phone has a physical keyboard and offers the basic functionalities like placing phone calls and sending out text messages.

Last year, another heart-warming story about a Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 stopping a bullet and saving a man’s life made its way online.

A man whose wallet was stolen confronted the thief only to get shot at. Fortunately, the pasticky Galaxy Mega 6.3 managed to absorb the projectile’s force, so the owner didn’t sustain life-threatening injuries.

So you’d better keep your Samsung phone close to your heart!
