Samsung Character (SCH-R640) is yet another messaging feature-phone that will soon be released in the United States.

Although the phone's price has yet to be announced, just by looking at the Character's specs sheet, we can definitely assume that this will be really affordable for American customers.

The phone features a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard and comes with a 2.8-inch touchscreen with 240 x 320 pixels resolution.

The full touchscreen allows users to operate numerous functions of the phone without the need for a keyboard.

However, when the need arises, the full QWERTY keyboard can be slided out to make texting and typing much easier and smoother.

Even though Samsung Character is no smartphone, the mobile phone comes with Samsung TouchWiz Lite user interface, which gives the keyboard an intuitive sense as it helps speed up the process of typing, so users won't have to type every letter of every word.

Furthermore, the slider sports a sub-par 1.3-megapixel camera that can be used to capture moments with a spontaneous photo.

Obviously, sharing photos by uploading them to social networking sites or by instantly messaging them to any contacts in the phonebook is quite easy to do.

Speaking of social networking, Samsung Character provides users with a built-in shortcut that allows them instant access right from the Menu button to apps, plus all their favorite social networking sites.

Besides its proven messaging capabilities, Samsung Character can be used a music player thanks to its built-in Native music player.

In addition, music lovers will also be glad to know it has microSD card support, so they can slide in a microSD memory card to provide additional space and store more of their favorite songs.

Samsung Character has just showed up on Samsung USA's official website, which means that the phone's launch in the United States is imminent.
