14 DAY TRIAL // AMD has unveiled today at CES 2019 in Las Vegas the Radeon VII (7) as world's first 7nm high-end gaming GPU and the 3rd generation AMD Ryzen CPUs as world's first 7nm consumer desktop processors.
During a live broadcast via YouTube, AMD President and CEO Dr. Lisa Su unveiled several new computing technologies and products, including the world's first 7nm high-end gaming GPUs (Graphics Processing Units) dedicated to gamers and creators alike, AMD Radeon VII as the 2nd-generation Vega graphics core.
The AMD Radeon VII graphics cards deliver outstanding performance thanks to its amazing 60 compute units running at up to 1.8GHz and a massive 16GB of memory with industry-leading 1TB/sec bandwidth. As such, AMD says that the AMD Radeon VII GPUs also offer up to 25 percent more performance at the same power.
AMD Radeon VII will go on sale on February 7th, 2019, for $699 USD. The GPU will also be bundled with upcoming games like Devil May Cry 5, Tom Clancy's The Division 2, and Resident Evil 2 for a limited time. Most probably, AMD Radeon VII will be available for sale in stores worldwide by mid-2019.
Introducing the 3rd-generation AMD Ryzen CPUs
The second major product unveiled today at CES 2019 in Las Vegas by AMD is the 3rd generation AMD Ryzen CPUs, which are the world's first desktop processors for consumers using the latest 7nm manufacturing technologies and world's first PC platform to support the ultra-fast PCIe 4.0 standard.
However, AMD only previewed the 3rd-gen AMD Ryzen CPUs as they'll be available in mid-2019, when the company will unveil more details. AMD also teased the audience with another powerful CPU series, AMD EPYC, a server processor for data centers, which the company said it would be the world's first 7nm datacenter CPU.
Among other products announced today by AMD at CES 2019, we can mention the AMD Radeon Software graphics drivers suite with Ryzen mobile driver support, which will be available starting February 2019, as well as Google Project Stream, a gaming streaming platform similar to Nvidia's GeForce NOW cloud gaming service.
