Usually, these kinds of lists are provided at the end of the year, but Amazon's editorial staff has made the effort to supply a list of the site's most successful books this year.

The list comprises books released in the first six months of 2015, and is not only based on sales figures, but also on the staff's personal favorites, so you can rest assured there won't be literary trash like "50 Shades of Grey" anywhere in there.

So here it goes, Amazon's list of Top 10 Books of 2015, so far:

1.  H is for Hawk by Helen Macdonald - a book about a young woman that spends a year training a baby goshawk to help her cope with her father's loss.

2. An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir - a fantasy novel that takes place in a world inspired by ancient Rome.

3. Dead Wake: The Last Crossing of Lusitania by Erik Larson - a book depicting the final hours of the Lusitania before it was sunk by a German submarine.

4. Ghettoside: A True Story of Murder in America by Jill Leovy - a piece of literary journalism about a senseless murder and the investigation that follows.

5. The Sympathizer by Viet Than Nguyen - a spy novel about a traitorous Vietnamese captain in the last days of Saigon, before it was overrun by the Viet Cong.

6. All the Old Knives by Olen Steinhauer - the equivalent of a Hollywood action thriller that takes place in Vienna after terrorists take over a hundred people for hostage.

7. Saint Mazie by Jamie Attenberg - a novel about the life of a woman that owns a movie theater in New York City during the Great Depression.

There's a special section on Amazon where you can see the full list, along with more titles included, and a breakdown for various categories and literary genres.
