alphaOS, a distribution based on Puppy Linux and built from Arch Linux packages, has just reached version 9.0 (20130801).

The updates for alphaOS keep on coming and follow the release of Arch Linux. This means that the latest updates for Arch have arrived in alphaOS.

Highlights of alphaOS 9.0 (20130801):

• pacman has been set up to use the Arch Rollback Machine and packages from the same date; • The distribution uses frugal installation and software modules, which is the main difference from other Arch-based distributions; • Pwireless has been replaced by Frisbee; • EUDev has been updated to version 1.1, which is the equivalent to systemd 205; • The simple radio player has been rewritten in Vala programming language; • The notifications support has been greatly improved; • The kickshaw application has been included.
