After the resounding success of Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, South Korean multinational conglomerate Samsung is now focusing its attention on mid-range devices, to appeal to other categories of users. A recent post on the official website of India’s leading provider of key trade intelligence and corporate information agency, Zauba, Samsung is preparing to launch a new model in its Galaxy A series.

Shipment records point out to a model dubbed SM-A430U, we can only presume that it refers to the Galaxy A4. It was also stated that the alleged Galaxy A4 will come with a 5.5-inch screen, an improvement compared to the A5’s 5.0-inch display.

At this point, there’s not much information on the model, the initial report specifies that the SM-A430U model was given a valuation of $477.18, and was imported into India for R&D evaluation. Samsung might actually reconsider the price, considering that a few days later it dropped the price per unit to $355.09.

Last Galaxy A series was launched in December last year

It’s about time Samsung launched another model in its A series, since the A5 was released in December last year. At the time, Galaxy A5 was a safe-bet when it came to mid-range smartphones, as it had a satisfactory rear camera of 13 MP and a selfie snapper of 5 MP.

The A5 came with 2GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, with the option to expand to 64GB using a microSD card. Considering that the A5 model came with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410, we can only expect the A4 to be an upgrade to the series.

A few days ago, leaked images of the upcoming Galaxy C5 stirred quite a buzz on the Internet. They showed a slim metallic body and rumors say that it will come with a Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor, clocked at a speed of 1.5GHz. All things considered, Samsung is certainly focusing its attention on mid-range devices, which will surely be released this year.
