This is rumored to be the upcoming iPhone 7

We’ve known for a while that Apple was working on the next-generation iPhone, but a new video coming from China allegedly shows one of the prototypes that the company has tested in a Foxconn factory.

While it’s hard to say whether this video is fake or not, it’s still worth a view, especially because this could actually be the very first look at the upcoming iPhone 7.

If this is indeed the new iPhone 7 (although we would incline to believe that it’s more of a prototype, so the final product could be very different), then the new model could come without a home button and with a bezel-free design.

The home button, which is placed on the front of the device on current iPhone models, is one of the reasons the company cannot yet go for a design without bezels, so if Apple indeed removes it, such an approach finally becomes possible.

Camera placed in the middle, no Flash

The back of the phone also comes with some pretty big changes to the iPhone lineup, as the camera is placed at the center of the device. What’s more, there doesn’t seem to be a Flash available on this prototype, which is kind of weird, given the fact that the camera is currently the most used feature on iPhone, and such a thing helps greatly improve photo quality.

The video spotted by GforGames can hardly be taken for granted right now, not only when looking at the details of the phone, but also when analyzing it as a whole, as the overall look of the device doesn’t actually inspire the premium quality that Apple has become famous for.

iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus are both expected to debut sometime next year, with pundits claiming that Apple wants to bring them out earlier than the usual in order to benefit from the growing sales during the fall. So the new-generation iPhone could actually launch in the summer, but once again, nothing is certain for now, and take everything, including this video, with a healthy pinch of salt.
