Chinese handset maker Alcatel OneTouch is expected to unveil a new affordable Android smartphone later this month.

Alcatel Indonesia recently teased the sequel to the OneTouch Flash 2 smartphone and confirmed the device would be officially unveiled on September 22.

Since the original OneTouch Flash is already available for purchase in India, we expect the sequel to arrive in this country as well.

According to a new report, Alcatel OneTouch Flash costs only Rs 7,499 ($115 / €105) in India, so the sequel should be only slightly more expensive.

Unfortunately, not many things are known about OneTouch Flash 2's specs, but we suspect more info will emerge in the coming weeks.

One thing that seems to be confirmed by the teaser is the fact that Alcatel OneTouch Flash 2 will sport a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display.

We expect it to be available internationally beginning later this month

This means that the smartphone will come with a smaller display than its predecessor since OneTouch Flash features a larger 5.5-inch touchscreen that supports HD (720p) resolution.

As mentioned, there are no details on the OneFlash 2 specs, but at least we know the original model comes with pretty good features.

For example, the handset packs a 1.4GHz octa-core MediaTek processor, a Mali-450MP4 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

Also, the OneTouch Flash features 8GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Alcatel OneTouch Flash packs a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel camera for video calls and selfie.

The smartphone is powered by a 3,200 mAh battery and offers both dual-SIM and 3G connectivity. Let's hope Alcatel OneTouch Flash 2 will provide customers with slightly better features than its predecessor.
