14 DAY TRIAL // Indian handset maker Micromax launched two cheap Android smartphones in just two days. The Bolt S301 and D303 are now ready to thicken the incredible amount of phones that are being launched everyday in India.
Although both smartphones are in the low-end range, at lest one of them will definitely stand out from other devices in the same price range. But let's talk about prices first.
According to a new report, Micromax Bolt S301 costs only Rs 2,899 ($45 / €40), while Bolt D303 has been priced slightly higher at Rs 3,499 ($55 / €50).
Well, the one thing that customers will be happy about besides the low price, is the fact that Micromax Bolt S301, while it ships with Android 4.4.2 KitKat right out of the box, it will receive an Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade soon.
This would make Micromax Bolt S301 the cheapest smartphone powered by Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system.
It can't get cheaper than this
The other smartphone launched recently by Micromax, Bold D303 comes with Android 4.4 KitKat platform onboard, but a Lollipop update has yet to be confirmed.
Spec-wise, Bolt S301 comes with a small 3.5-inch FWGA (854 x 480 pixels) display and it's powered by a modest 1GHz single core processor.
The smartphone packs only 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up 16GB via microSD card slot.
Also, the phone offers dual-SIM support and features dual cameras (1.3-megapixel main camera and VGA camera in the front).
On the other hand, Micromax Bolt D303 sports a slightly larger 4-inch WVGA (480 x 800 pixels) display. It's also equipped with a 1.3GHz dual-core processor, 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal memory that can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.
On the back, the budget-friendly handset has a 3.2-megapixel camera, while in the front there's a modest VGA camera. The Bolt D303 offers dual-SIM support along with other connectivity options including 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS with AGPS.
