Kickstarter, a popular crowdfunding platform, is the place where many game developers have had their dreams fulfilled. However, for a Kickstarter project to succeed you need a little bit more than luck, like good timing, tempting rewards, and some exposure in the media.

The folks over at Stuck in Attic, a Romanian indie developer, recently launched a Kickstarter campaign for their project called Gibbous – A Cthulhu Adventure.

Gibbous is a point-and-click adventure in the same style as Monkey Island series, but with some Lovecraftian accents. As they put it, it's “a comedy horror point and click adventure made in Transylvania. Lucas Art style, Lovecraft horrors, general insanity.”

In case you're wondering how much of what developers claim is true, you can download the game's demo for PC, Mac or Linux, since the game will be launched on all three platforms.

On top of that, we can confirm that the game is really made in Transylvania since the studio's HQ is placed in Targu Mures, Romania.

Gibbous has a stunning art style and a huge potential if the Kickstarter campaign is successful. But even if you're not a huge adventure game fan, there's still something that can tempt you into pledging to Stuck in Attic's project.

You'll also get a rock from Dracula's castle

At the $1,000 pledge tier, called Ultimate Chest of Unspeakable Horrors,” you will have a small chest containing authentic Transylvanian soil, as well as a rock from Dracula's castle (plus picture proof).

Gibbous – A Cthulhu Adventure is an absolute must for fans of the genre. It's got everything that an indie game needs to be successful: awesome art style and animation, great orchestral soundtrack, lovely and unforgettable characters, as well as a Transylvanian twist.

Even if you are not into adventure games, at least it's worth trying out the demo that developers have made available on the Kickstarter page. But, as I mentioned earlier, Gibbous – A Cthulhu Adventure is an absolute must for those who grew up with Monkey Island and Broken Sword series.
