If you’re into pre-release software and want to try out every app before it hits the market in stable form, then it’s worth knowing that Adobe has just rolled out a new version of Flash Player, which comes with bug fixes and performance improvements on all supported platforms.

At the same time, Adobe has also rolled out a new stable version that’s specifically supposed to address recent security glitches found in Flash Player, so make sure you get this one to stay protected.

First and foremost, Adobe Flash Player 18.0.0.205 beta comes with the same features as its predecessor, including fixes and improvements aimed at Microsoft’s new Edge browser, but at the same time, it also adds a new series of optimizations for Windows workstations.

This new version also adopts Adobe’s new mechanism that allows users to install Flash Player without actually restarting their browsers, but the parent company says that some improvements in this regard are still needed because, in some scenarios, a reboot might still be required.

The stable version

The new stable version of Adobe’s Flash Player is 18.0.0.203, and although no change log has been provided, it’s believed that the parent company has tried to fix security vulnerabilities that have been spotted in the last couple of weeks (Adobe usually does that on the second Tuesday of each month, but this time, the company might have hurried up for users’ benefit).

Recently, it has emerged that computers infected with Kovter click-fraud malware received new Flash Player software in order to block other infections from reaching these PCs. Basically, the malware writers were patching computers after having previously infected them, thus trying to make sure that no other malicious file that could compromise the system or even block their own malware was deployed.

Adobe hasn’t yet detailed the new release, but all users are strongly recommended to download and install it to fix any security vulnerability that might exist.
