In the spirit of Razer Blade and serving the idea that gaming laptops don't really need to be bulky-looking, heavy pieces of flaming hardware that some people dare call "portable," Acer has revealed its latest Aspire V Nitro notebooks.

Targeting gamers that want their gaming laptops not to look like some latent Transformer and be something more socially acceptable, Acer's new Aspire V Nitro notebook is a black device coming in two 15" and 17" screen form factors, bringing a so-called "latest Intel Skylake sixth-gen Core i7 and i5 mobile chips" together with an NVIDIA GTX 960M graphics card carrying 4GB of RAM memory, probably DDR3L that will allow a maximum size of 32GB.

Additionally, the new gaming laptop comes with a 512GB M.4 SSD storage option, and if you opt for HDDs, you'll get a 2TB storage drive.

Connectivity-wise, the new gaming laptop from Acer arrives with some USB 3.1 Type-C ports and 40Gbps Thunderbolt 3 on the top-end "Black Edition" models, something that suddenly makes Acer's new sleek gaming laptop a serious proposition to take into consideration. And to mention that it comes with a 4K screen in a 15" and 17" is something that people would take even more seriously into consideration.

Powerful, impressive and infinitely more socially acceptable than Predator

While the new Nitro isn't branded just as aggressively as a gaming laptop as the Predator line was, they are still heavy and a bit round around the corners, weighing about 5 and 7 pounds. Given that you'll have to carry them in some sturdy shoulder bags while fooling around people that you're only remotely interested in video games, it sells at quite a decent $1,099 price.

Keeping in mind that it has a pretty decent 8-hour battery life and that it offers 4K entertainment, it's not really a bad bargain, after all.

The Acer Aspire V Nitro will arrive in Europe in September and in North America in October for a starting price of $999/€899.
