We're just a few days away from the reveal of Microsoft's new flagship smartphones, but we already know everything there is to know about their specs.

It's clear that Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL will be the most powerful handsets available on the market that are powered by Windows 10 Mobile.

But they will have a contender in the form of Acer Jade Primo, which was announced early last month at IFA 2015 trade fair.

The Jade Primo is Acer's first smartphone to come preloaded with Windows 10 Mobile. Apart from that, it's a top-tier device that will be equipped with a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor and 2GB of RAM.

Also, Acer's Jade Primo boasts a large 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution. There's also a 21-megapixel photo snapper on the back and a no-less-impressive 8-megapixel camera on the front.

The smartphone will cost more than $300, but an exact release date will probably be announced after Microsoft launches Windows 10 Mobile.

We should expect an announcement early next year

Along with the Jade Primo, Acer also introduced the Predator series of devices, which also includes the Predator 6, a very powerful Android smartphone.

In an interview for Digitimes, Acer's President ST Liu confirmed that his company would continue to launch high-end Windows Phone handsets beginning next year.

According to him, the Predator 6 and the Jade Primo 2 will be released in 2016. The latter will probably be unveiled early next year, at CES or Mobile World Congress 2016 trade fair.

“Currently, a majority of our models are priced below US$199. But we have also been trying to ramp up the ASP of our products by introducing flagship models priced over US$300 per year.”

“We launched the flagship Jade Primo in 2015 and plan to release two flagships, the Predator 6 and the Jade Primo 2 in 2016,” said Liu.
