14 DAY TRIAL // Acer is not yet among the major players in the smartphone business, but the company is trying to get the attention of Android fans from time to time with (mostly) mid-range devices priced aggressively.
The new smartphone announced by Acer at an event in New York City is called Liquid Zest Plus, The Verge reports.
This is a mid-range Android smartphone that won’t cost more than $250 once it hits shelves. Speaking of which, we have no idea when it will go on sale, but it shouldn’t take Acer too long to bring it on the market.
Specs-wise, Acer Liquid Zest Plus is pretty decent. The phone sports a large 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution.
It comes with three types of AF for the rear camera
One of the things that Acer has praised during the launch event is the fact that Liquid Zest Plus comes with 13-megapixel photo snapper with “tri-focus,” which means that the smartphone uses all three types of autofocus available these days: laser, contrast and phase detection.
When it comes to hardware, the Liquid Zest Plus has been confirmed to pack a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor, coupled with a Mali-T720 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.
The handset comes with 16GB of storage inside, which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot. Aside from the 13-megapixel camera on the back, Acer’s mid-range handset includes a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the front for selfies and video calls.
Another selling point of the Liquid Zest Plus would be the massive 5,000 mAh battery, which hasn’t been rated by Acer yet. Naturally, the device will ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system right out of the box.
Sadly, its’s unclear whether or not the Liquid Zest Plus will be available for purchase in Europe or other regions around the world. Acer will probably sell the device in the United States through its online store.
