Acer joins the Windows 10 party with plenty of new devices

Acer has unveiled several new Windows 10 devices at IFA 2016 in Berlin, expanding its offering with models that are specifically designed to be super portable and offer extreme portability.

The company hasn’t unveiled all specifications of the unveiled devices, but only the essential ones – the full spec sheet, however, is expected to be provided in the coming hours.

Acer Swift 7

First and foremost, Acer is betting big on the Swift 7, a brand new model that comes with a 13.3-inch full HD display and designed to be super lightweight – it weighs only 2.48 pounds (1.1 kg) thanks to the all-aluminum unibody with Corning Gorilla Glass on the screen.

Acer claims that it can provide up to 9 hours of battery life and thanks to it Intel Core i5 processor and 8 GB of RAM, it should be able to run Windows 10 and the majority of games and apps quite smoothly. It also features a 256GB SSD, as well as a HD webcam with HDR support and dual USB 3.1 Type-C ports for charging and data transfers.

The Swift 7 will go on sale in North America and EMA in October, with pricing to start at $999 and €1,299, respectively.

Acer Spin 7

As compared to the Swift 7, the Acer Spin 7 is a convertible notebook that comes with a 14-inch full HD display with Gorilla Glass protection and a matte black chassis.

The device was also designed to be super light, so it weighs only 2.6 pounds (1.2 kg) and is 0.43 inches (10.9 mm) thin.

In terms of hardware, there are several configurations available, with the top-of-the-range model featuring an Intel i7 processor, 256ZGB of SSD storage, and 8 GB of RAM. There are also two USB Type-C ports for charging and data transfers.

The Spin 7 will also go on sale in October, with pricing to start at $1,199 in the US and €1,299 in EMEA.

Acer Predator 21 X

If you’re a fan of the Predator series, you’re certainly excited to hear about the 21 X, a brand new model that is the first notebook with a curved screen and integrated eye-tracking technology and state-of-the-art hardware.

The device comes with seventh-generation Intel Core processors and dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics cards running in SLI mode, as well as with 5 cooling fans to keep things cool. 3 system fans use Acer’s Aero Blade metal configuration.

In addition, the laptop features a full-sized mechanical keyboard with CherryMX switches, customizable backlight for each key, 4 speakers, 2 subwoofers, 3-way audio, and Dolby audio support. Additionally, the numeric keypad comes with a new design that makes it possible to be flipped over and turned into a Precision pad.

There is no word on pricing and availability just yet, but more information should be provided at a later time, possibly in October when the other models go on sale.

Acer Predator 15 and 17

And last but not least, Acer is introducing the new Predator 15 and 17 laptops that come with the NVIDIA Pascal architecture feature GeForce GTX 1070 graphics. The two devices will go on sale in September, with pricing starting at $1,699 in North America and €1,799 in EMEA.
