One of the first OEMs that announce the upcoming release of a Windows 10 Mobile handset, Acer has just announced that Jade Primo will be available for purchase beginning December.

NPU reports Acer officially introduced the Jade Primo in the Philippines where it will sell for $410 outright later this year.

Obviously, the prices may vary by country, but we don't expect it to be much more expensive than the amount confirmed today by Acer.

Acer Jade Primo will be sold unlocked and SIM free, but we don't rule out any agreements with major carriers across the globe.

A decent competitor for Lumia 950

Even though Acer's high-end smartphone won't be the first to come with Windows 10 Mobile onboard, it will be a decent competitor for Microsoft's Lumia 950 handset that's expected to make its debut on the market in November.

The Jade Primo will arrive on the market at the same time Microsoft plans to release the Lumia 550, the most affordable Windows 10 Mobile smartphone announced until now.

For those out of the loop, here is a quick rundown of the Jade Primo specs. First of all, the smartphone will be equipped with a 64-bit 1.8GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, an Adreno 418 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.

On the back, the Jade Primo will boast an impressive 21-megapixel photo shooter with autofocus, dual-LED flash and video recording, while in the front there should be an 8-megapixel camera for state-of-the-art selfies and video calls.

There's no mention of the battery inside, but we do know Acer Jade Primo sports a 5.5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution. It also comes with 32GB of internal memory and we expect it to pack microSD card slot too.

It remains to be seen whether or not Acer will bring the Jade Primo in other regions around the same timeframe, so stay tuned for more on this one.
