14 DAY TRIAL // Acer has recently announced the upcoming availability of a high-end Android smartphone, the Liquid Jade 2, but that's not the only device unveiled by the company at MWC 2016.
A new series of smartphones made its debut at the trade fair earlier this week, the Acer Liquid Zest, which already contains two devices.
The two models are the Acer Liquid Zest, which features a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTel MT6580 processor while the second, Acer Liquid Zest 4G comes with a 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor and LTE support.
According to Acer, both smartphones come with 5-inch HD (720p) display that features Zero Air Gap technology which removes the air between the touch panel and the LCD module to reduce reflections and improve readability under bright sunlight.
Furthermore, the company confirmed that both smartphones include On-Cell Touch technology which moves the touch later onto the outer glass surface of the screen, which should eliminate the touch substrate layer and also make these devices thinner.
Entry-level smartphones with some mid-range specs
The Zest series smartphones pack 8-megapixel rear-facing cameras with autofocus, f/2.0 aperture and video recording, as well as secondary 5-megapixel wide-angle selfie cameras. LED flash is included too.
Also, Acer announced that Liquid Zest includes DTS Sound Studio while Liquid Zest 4G comes with DTS HD Premium Sound, for a bigger sound field, higher vocal clarity and more natural details while on the move.
Acer confirmed the Liquid Zest will be available for purchase in EMEA in April with prices starting at €110 outright. On the other hands, Acer Liquid Zest 4G should hit shelves in EMEA in May for prices starting at €150.
It's also worth mentioning that both smartphones will ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system right out of the box, and that they will be available in Midnight Black and Daylight White colors.
