14 DAY TRIAL // It has been a while since Acer released the Liquid Zest Plus, and today the company has announced two new smartphones, together with a new tablet, during IFA 2016 event, held in Berlin. The Liquid Z6 is an entry-level handset with quite modest specs while the Z6 Plus is a mid-ranger that has some potential. Specs, prices, and availability of the three devices have been revealed.
Acer Liquid Z6 sports a 5-inch HD display with 2.5D glass and a quad-core MediaTek 6737 chipset. It runs just 1GB of RAM and comes with solely 8GB of internal storage, but Acer hasn't mentioned anything about a microSD port on the phone.
Aside from this, the smartphone seems to come with an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP unit on the front. It has a plastic built and a very small battery of just 2,000mAh capacity. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Liquid Z6 Plus comes with 3GB of RAM
In contrast, the Liquid Z6 Plus packs a much larger, 5.5-inch 2.5D glass Full HD display. It also comes with an octa-core MT6753 processor and 3GB of RAM. Internal memory reaches 32GB, with the option to expand using a microSD card. Aside from this, rear camera capacity reaches 13MP on the Liquid Z6 Plus, with a 5MP unit on the front.
The device's main selling point is definitely the 4,080mAh battery. Then, it runs the same Android OS version as the Liquid Z6, Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The Liquid Z6 Plus also comes with a fingerprint sensor and has a metal back cover.
Iconia Talk S tablet has a 7-inch display, but only 2GB of RAM
The third device that Acer released during IFA is the Iconia Talk S tablet. It has a 7-inch 720p display and comes with a quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU with 2GB of RAM. It comes in two variants, depending on internal storage, one with 16GB of memory and the other with 32GB.
Internal memory can be expanded to 128GB using a microSD card. The tablet has a 13MP rear camera and a 2MP camera on the front and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Acer's Iconia Suite of apps.
Acer has revealed prices and availability as far as the three devices are concerned. Iconia Talk S will thus be available in EMEA starting September for the price of €169 ($190) while Liquid Z6 and Liquid Z6 Plus will be available in EMEA starting November and December for the price of €119 and €249, respectively.
