fireCore, the company responsible for the Seas0nPass Apple TV jailbreak tool, has announced a new version of the aTV Flash (black) application which comes with a new player, iOS 5 optimizations, and a truckload of bug fixes.

“Today we're happy to release a brand new version of aTV Flash (black) which includes a revamped player that is optimized for iOS 5.0 and later,” fireCore states on its blog.

“This new player improves performance for virtually all file type resulting in noticeably smoother playback,” says the company.

Notable enhancements include NFS streaming, additional translations, minor timing settings, “and a mountain of other improvements and fixes.”

Those already running a version of aTV Flash (black) can install the new 1.5 version through the Maintenance --> Manage Extras menu. The Downloads tab also holds links for the new version.

On matters concerning the second- and third-generation Apple TVs, fireCore is sad to inform customers that “Work is still underway on both fronts,” but that they’ve had “some encouraging reports come in over the past few days.

“However, it's still too early to give any kind of ETA but we hope to have more news soon,” says the firm.
