Clive Downie, the chief operating officer working at Zynga, says that his company is aiming to create a wide range of games that are able to dominate the genres they belong to, which would allow the company to significantly increase its revenue.

He tells Gamasutra that, “We want to make the number one games in large-scale consumer categories - that's our aspiration. Because we know if we do that, what we can do is drive multiple games into the top 20 all-format grossing chart in mobile and web.”

Zynga wants to create games that can generate 150 to 200 million dollars (96 to 155 million Euro) a year.

The company has recently acquired NaturalMotion and is at the moment led by Don Mattrick, the former leader of the Xbox One division at Microsoft.

Zynga has failed to replicate the success of FarmVille so far and has also been accused of copying game mechanics from other developers.
