Zynga has been very successful in delivering bite-sized gaming experiences for mobile device users and for social platform Facebook and it seems that the company now has plans to create technology that allows it to move its games on all platforms, including home consoles.

Speaking to GigaOM, Mark Pincus, who is the chief executive officer at Zynga, stated, “Right now we are building back-end technology, so that your game state can be saved and served up in difference screens devices, the interaction cues will take from the different devices.

“In other words, you can play a game on a computer and call it up on Xbox and you resume from the point you left off, except the game play will now be customized for the Xbox controller.”

The CEO says that, depending on the device, the experience of playing Zynga titles is different and that the company will need to make even more adjustments to the mechanics in order to bring its own titles on home consoles.

Pincus added, “My biggest challenge is to deliver on the promise of social gaming. We haven’t yet convinced you to play just yet. Social gaming has to get to a level where Facebook has gotten to — you just cannot avoid it.

“It is a social norm for connections and we want to get there with games. That is what we are doing Word for Friends, so we can get to bigger, broader market and get to more people.”

Zynga and Facebook are dependent on each other for a lot of revenue, but recently the game developing company announced that it was creating its own stripped-down platform in order to give its players more options when it comes to enjoying their social game experiences.

The company has been repeatedly accused of taking game ideas from other companies and then using its own marketing muscle to attract gamers.
