Zynga is huge, there's no doubt about that. But the company is growing so fast that it's hard to keep track and even harder to predict its future. The company has now revealed a few numbers, mostly on the technical side, which are truly impressive.

We already knew that a lot of people are playing Zynga games. And, with over 500 million people on Facebook alone, the social gaming company has a huge potential market.

Speaking at Oracle’s OpenWorld Zynga’s CTO Cadir Lee has revealed that 215 million people have played a Zynga game at one point, about 10 percent of the world's internet population.

FarmVille already has well over 100 million users, so the figure is hardly surprising, considering the number of games Zynga launches and the number of popular games it already has.

And the huge number of players actually spend quite a lot of time with the games, enough to move 1 Petabyte of data, which what Zynga sees every day.

All this activity requires quite a lot of computing power. Zynga has its own data centers, as befits any hot internet company with the kind of funding Zynga has.

And these data centers are growing at a huge rate, Zynga adds about 1,000 new servers each week.

Zynga is also growing as a company. Handling all of these users and keeping them happy requires quite a lot of people. Zynga is now at 1,200 employees, not bad for a company that has seen most of its success in the past year.

The company is also expanding, especially by acquiring small gaming studios. It recently opened offices in Japan as well.

There seems to be no stopping Zynga and with a major partnership with Google, which is still in the works, its power is no longer restricted by Facebook. [via TechCrunch]
