Mobile phone users in India can now consider the purchase of a new Android-based phablet in their country, as Zync has announced the launch of Cloud Z5 in the local market, priced at Rs 11,990 (around $219 / €165).

The smartphone sports a large 5-inch touchscreen display that can deliver only a WVGA resolution, along with a dual-core 1GHz processor, and 512MB of RAM.

Furthermore, the new mobile phone arrives on shelves with 8GB of internal memory, as well as with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back. Wi-Fi and MicroUSB were also included in the package.

The specs list of the Zync Cloud Z5 also includes a 0.3MP camera on the front for making video calls, along with a 2,500 mAh battery and Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich loaded on top, BGR India reports.

The phablet ZYNC Cloud Z5, which I purchased recently, is unique, but it has a problem with the power supply system. The battery needs recharging daily even the phone is sparingly used for 8-10 phone calls. The different storage utilization is as follows : Internal storage with apps is 127 MB out of 503 MB , Phone storage is 0.12 GB (apps, pics, downloads etc) out of 2.09 GB and in SD card 0.34 GB out of 3.69 GB. So with the total loading hardly 25% the battery is getting discharged within 10 to 12 hours, which is not acceptable.
