Microsoft has disputed reports that the Zune portable media player is not compatible with Windows Vista, contradicting information posted on the Zune website. "Zune software is compatible
with the following operating systems: Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 Update Rollup 2," reads a message informing of the operating systems that are currently compatible with the product. In fact, Zune's support of operating systems is limited exclusively to the English North America versions of the XP SP2 and XP Media Center Edition 2005.

"Earlier versions of Windows XP Media Center Edition are not compatible with the Zune software," additionally informs Microsoft.

In fact, Zune is not compatible with Vista. "Windows Vista is not supported at this time. Check back soon for updates." But it will be. Once the operating system will be officially released in January. "Zune will support all versions of Vista when they become available," stated a Microsoft representative.
