Zuma is a fast-paced puzzle game developed by PopCap Games. It can be played for free online on several web sites, and can be purchased for a
number of platforms, including PDAs, mobile phones, and the iPod. An enhanced version, called Zuma Deluxe, is available for purchase in Windows and Mac OS X versions and as an Xbox Live Arcade download for the Xbox 360.

The objective of Zuma is to eliminate all the balls rolling around the screen along a given path (the path is clearly visible in all of the levels except the last level), before these balls reach the yellow skull structure, which will open to varying degrees as a warning of oncoming balls. As soon as one ball reaches the skull, the rest follow and the player loses one life.

CHEATS

Easier levels
Please note: This procedure involves editing a game file; create a backup copy of the file before proceeding. Use a text editor to edit the "levels.xml" file in the "zuma deluxe!levels" folder. Scroll down about halfway until you see the following line:

Settings id="lvl11" speed="0.5" start="35" score="1000" repeat= (etc)

"lvl11" means level 1-1. If you want to slow down the speed of the balls for this level, change the speed value from "0.5" to "0.2". If you are stuck on a higher level (for example, level 12-7), go down a few more lines to where "lvl127" appears, then change its speed value to "0.2". Please note: Do not confuse the "lvl11" line above with the "level11" line in the same file.

Level select
Please note: This procedure involves editing a game file; create a backup copy of the file before proceeding. Use a text editor to edit the "levels.xml" file in the "zuma deluxe!levels" folder. Scroll down near the bottom until you see the following line:

StageProgression

stage1 = "spiral,claw,riverbed,targetglyph,blackswirley"

diffi1 = "lvl11,lvl12,lvl13,lvl14,lvl15",etc...

Change the level name to your choice. For example, to change Dark Vortex, Level 1-5, to Spiral of Doom, change "blackswirley" to "spiral". To find out what name corresponds to what level, look in "cached_thumbnails" in the same folder and switch to filmstrip view in Windows Explorer, in "Views" on the top, by "Folders". It will show a large picture at the top and thumbnails at the bottom.

GAMEPLAY HINTS

UFO

Control level background
In level 13-1 (space), press S to stop the stars from moving.

I slowed down my Zuma game by going into the files on my computer. My son helped me do it. He is a computer technician. I actually had been playing Zuma for many years and haven't been able to beat it. I was stuck on level 12 for so long. I am so happy now. After slowing all the last levels down to 0.20 speed, I was able to beat the whole game! The graphics in the very last levels are really cool! Thanks for the tips on this cool game!

I just beat level 12 got beat on level13-1 why did it take me back to level 12-1

level 13 is the last level. if you lose on level 13, it'll take you back to the beginning of level 12. if you beat the game, you can start at the beginning of any level except for 13 - you'd have to beat all of level 12 again to get to it.

I love zuma, but have never been able to get past level 9. I have to delete zuma from my system after a few weeks become I become obsessed. I just reinstalled after a year or more of being away, but I want to get to level 13, so I'll be using this cheat. Thanks for posting.
