Ever since it was launched, back in January 2012, Zulu, Zscaler’s real-time URL analyzer, has been used around 100,000 times, but in the meantime, the security company has been working on improving the product.

Among the improvements , we find a more user-friendly interface, an optimized check process and deeper URL inspections.

When it comes to the analysis speed, it has been reduced to less than 5 seconds, during which the domain is being looked up, the content is downloaded and the URLs, page content, and DNS records go through more than 20 inspections. After the process is completed, the web address is appointed as being benign, suspicious, or malicious.

The reports made by Zulu have been simplified, a clear explanation being provided after each analysis.

In addition to the previous version, up to 10 external elements, including CSS, tags, links, and JavaScripts, are scanned.

Zulu is free and it’s available here.
