It has all the perks of a programmable gaming peripheral

Quake may be an old game at this point, but many people still play it, and some play it so much and so well that gaming equipment makers name their products after them. That's what happened with the Zowie EC eVo CL mouse.

Zowie Gear named the device after Anton “Cooller” Singov, a professional Quake player that wanted something better than the other Zowie EC2 mice, which he uses extensively.

So Zowie obliged, making a right-handed, ergonomic mouse with adjustable DPI (450, 1,150, 2,300 DPI), frequency of 125, 500 or 1,000 Hz, a 24-step scroll wheel, a black and white design with red buttons, and completely independent operation.

Which is to say, it doesn't need a driver at all.

Sales should start this month, but the price is unknown. We'll have to wait for retailers to post it, or for Zowie Gear to release the info.
