Zotac has just announced that it finalized the development of the company's first custom designed GeForce GTX 580 graphics card that raises the amount of video buffer installed to 3GB and also packs an improved cooling system and a factory overclocked GF110 core.

The new solution goes by the name of Zotac GeForce GTX 580 AMP2! Edition and its most distinctive feature is the dual-fan custom cooling system which should reduce the noise generated by the card when in load as well as its operating temperatures.

This is accompanied by 3GB of GDDR5 video buffer, which Zotac installed in order to improve the performance of the card when high resolution textures are being used.

In addition, to make the graphics card even faster its memory was overclocked from the standard 4008MHz to 4100MHz and the same thing happened to the GPU as it also received a small speed bump to go from 772MHz to 815MHz.

“Enthusiast gamers demand the absolute best performance available. With the Zotac GeForce GTX 580 AMP2! Edition, we are able to boost high-resolution gaming performance while reducing noise levels and temperatures,” said Carsten Berger, marketing director, Zotac International.

In addition to the GeForce GTX 580 AMP2! Edition graphics card, the retail pack also contains a copy of the Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood game.

Pricing has not been announced yet, but the company's previous flagship video card, the GeForce GTX 580 AMP! Edition, which features the same clock speeds but just 1.5GB of RAM and the stock cooling system, is listed at $549.99, so this should be a great deal more expensive.

The GTX 580 is Nvidia's fastest single GPU solution released to date and packs 512 CUDA cores, 64 texturing units, 48 ROP units and a 384-bit wide memory interface.
