Advanced Micro Devices may not match Intel in terms of sheer number of CPUs and chipsets that support them, at least no as far as raw sales numbers go, but it still has quite a few design wins of its own out there, and Zotac has just used a chipset in two of its motherboards.

After a whole slew of motherboards aimed at gamers and enthusiasts, or at any other consumers, have been released, Zotac figured it would try something else.

As such, instead of a new ATX board, or one based on a variation of said form factor, it chose the mini-ITX for factor when it made the 880G-ITX WiFi and M880G-ITX WiFi.

As their names suggest, the are constructed around the AMD 880G chipset, the M880G-ITX WiFi even featuring the Turion II Neo K625 CPU (central processing unit).

Speaking of the M880G-ITX WiFi, it boasts the ATI Radeon HD 4200 integrated GPU, plus two DDR3 memory slots (DDR3-800 DIMM).

There are also six SATA 6.0 Gbps ports, a PCI Express x1 slot, dual-link DVI, VGA, HDMI and support for RAID 0, 1, 0+1 & 5.

The 880G-ITX WiFi does not have a chip of its own, but can be outfitted with Athlon II, Sempron II or even Phenom II units, being AM3-ready (up to 95W TDP supported).

It also has only four SATA 6.0 Gbps connectors, but faster memory (two DDR3-1333 DIMM slots), plus the ATI Radeon HD 4250 GPU.

“ZOTAC is the world leader when it comes to high-definition-ready mini-ITX platforms,” said Carsten Berger, marketing director, ZOTAC International.

“We are able to provide an energy-efficient AMD platform with the new M880G-ITX WiFi, while the new 880G-ITX WiFi introduces socket AM3 compatibility to our mini-ITX product line up,” Berger added.

The prices of the newcomers have not been announced but any and all information may be found within the press release that Zotac has posted on its website.
