Zorin OS Educational Lite, a Linux distribution for educational purposes which can be used on old and low-spec computers, is now at version 6 RC.

The Zorin OS Team has announced that Zorin OS Educational Lite 6 RC is now available for download. The new version is based on Lubuntu 11.10 and uses the LXDE desktop environment, unlike the regular version which uses GNOME.

Some new features went into this new distribution such as a lightweight version of the Software Center which makes installing software a lot more easier, and some new programs.

Besides being easy to use on any old computer, Zorin OS Educational Lite 6 RC comes with dozens of educational programs for primary, secondary and tertiary education students: Zorin Look Changer, Zorin Internet Browser Manager, and all the applications in the Lite Extras package.

Download Zorin OS 6 RC Educational Lite right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development release and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended to be used for testing purposes only.
