An Ubuntu-based operating system aimed at Windows users that are switching over to Linux, Zorin OS Educational, has now reached version 6.1.

The Zorin OS 6 Educational series is based on a new desktop environment called “Zorin Desktop” and comes with Zorin Look Changer, an application that allows users to change between Windows 7, XP and GNOME 2 graphical interfaces.

The 6.1 version has newly updated software and a newer Linux kernel out of the box. The distribution is based on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Long Term Support), which means it will benefit from five years of security updates.

If you already have Zorin OS 6 Educational installed, you will not have to get the new version. Just perform a system update and you will download the new version.

Download Zorin OS 6.1 Educational right now from Softpedia.
