Starting today, Chinese mobile phone users can purchase a new entry-level device from Zopo, namely the Zopo ZP700.

The smartphone was made official last week and is now available through the Zoposhop, with a price tag of only $159.99 (€116) attached to it.

For this kind of money, users will get a smartphone that packs a 4.7-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a 960 x 540 pixels resolution, and which is powered by a new 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor.

Furthermore, the smartphone sports 1GB of RAM inside and 4GB of internal memory, along with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 64GB of additional storage space.

The specifications list of the new mobile phone also includes support for WCDMA 850/ 2100 and GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 networks; HSDPA 21Mbps, HSUPA 5.76Mbps; EDGE; GPRS; and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth connectivity.

At the same time, the handset features DLNA and Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities, as well as built-in GPS receiver with A-GPS support.

On the back, the new Zopo ZP700 sports a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, paired with a 2MP camera on the front, so as to enable users to make video calls while on the go.

The smartphone is powered by a 1750mAh Li-ion battery and features the usual set of sensors, as well as micro USB and 3.5mm headphone jack. The handset also includes support for two SIM cards.

Zopo loaded the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system on top of the new device, but it did not mention whether it would update it to a newer flavor of the mobile platform.

The Zopo ZP700 is available through the Zoposhop unlocked and SIM-free at the aforementioned price tag, which is lower than the official $189.99 (€138) cost it was announced with, as GizChina notes. Those who would like to purchase the phone should head over to this page on the portal.
