Zoombak, a leading company in personal GPS tracking devices, has just announced the release of a mobile application for handsets running under Google's Android operating system. According to Zoombak, the new software solution offers its users the possibility to locate their tracking devices from an Android-based smartphone with ease.

The new Zoombak mobile app for the Android platform was made available for download for free via the Android Market, the company added.

At the same time, the company noted that the new application is the third mobile solution it makes available for its users, following similar apps released for iPhone and BlackBerry.

“Many Zoombak customers carry Andoid enabled devices, so we are excited to give them the ability to easily track their Zoombak locator from anywhere,” said Simon Buckingham, CEO of Zoombak.

“We continue to focus on ensuring that Zoombak customers have convenient access to their device’s location information. The Android app follows on from our Apple iPhone and BlackBerry apps.”

Zoombak customers are now offered the possibility to use the new Android application to find their Zoombak devices in real-time.

The software solution is easy to use, as one would only have to click Find Now to receive info on the location of the Zoombak device.

“When a user clicks “Find Now”, the current location of their Zoombak device is displayed on a street map, along with detailed location information including city, state, date, time and latitude/longitude data,” the company notes.

The application also comes with a “Continuous Tracking” mode, through which people receive alerts every five minutes on the location of the Zoombak device. Not to mention that one can track multiple devices at the same time.

The new software solution is compatible with all Android-based mobile phones, the company announced.

The list of supported models includes: Verizon Droid, Droid 2, Droid X and Droid Incredible, Motorola Milestone XT720, Sony Ericcson Xperia X10, HTC Desire, HTC Legend, HTC Desire, and HTC EVO 4G from Sprint, Samsung Galaxy S and T-Mobile MyTouch and MyTouch Slider.
