Staff at the New Zoo and Adventure Park in Wisconsin, US have recently announced that the facility now serves as a home to six adorable red wolf pups.

The young wolves, one of which is pictured above, were born earlier this year, on May 22, to mother Mayo and dad Tasmaska, Zoo Borns informs.

Vets have had the chance to examine them, and say that they are all healthy and active. By the looks of it, two of them are girls and the other four are boys.

The wolf pups are still very young and vulnerable – not to mention utterly clueless as to what this world is all about – which is why they have not yet emerged from the family den.

Keepers say that, all things considered, it will probably be a few weeks until the pups make their public debut and visitors to the zoo finally get to see them.

For the time being, the International Union for Conservation of Nature considers red wolves to be a critically endangered species, greenheads explain.

Thus, it is estimated that just 300 such animals are currently left in the world. Of these, about 100 live in the wild and 200 live in captivity at facilities such as the New Zoo and Adventure Park in Wisconsin.
