Zoo Tycoon 2 is the sequel to the popular Zoo Tycoon business simulator, and once against tasks players with creating and operating a zoo in order to turn a profit, get more animals and, subsequently, get more visitors to the establishment.
Zoo Tycoon 2 was originally revealed for the Windows PC, but was soon ported to the Mac OS X, Nintendo DS and even to PDA mobile devices.
Like its predecessor, players start with a vacant lot and have a limited budget to start a simple zoo with a few animals.
As visitors arrive at the zoo, more money is earned which can be used to further upgrade the establishment and grow the business.
Like the first Zoo Tycoon, there are multiple modes, with the most important one being Freeform.
During Freeform, players have unlimited money and they can create and expand their own zoo according to their personal wishes.
You can opt to start a zoo in different types of areas, from alpine snowy terrains to the forest, desert, plain or even the tundra or wetlands.
Players can purchase different types of animals, but must first create an enclosure large and suitable for the animal in question.
Besides creating the actual animal enclosures, players of Zoo Tycoon 2 must also buy and set up facilities for the visitors of the zoo.
The establishment must be equipped food and drink stands, bathrooms, picnic areas, seating, trash and recycling bins, as well as playgrounds for the younger visitors.
Besides the Freeform mode, gamers can opt for the Campaign mode, and will be given an already existing zoo and tasked with accomplishing specific goals like breeding animals, training them or rescuing abused ones.
Last but not least, the Challenge mode gives players a limited amount of money and must achieve certain goals.
GLITCHES
Dolphins
Glitched dolphins appear when you have two dolphins, male and female, and at least one other animal cage that is not a sea animal. Usually when the other animals have a baby, a dolphin appears with it. The dolphin will appear to be swimming, even when on land. When you click on the dolphin, your game will freeze. However, there is one way to view the glitch dolphins heath stats. First, tap any other animal in the cage (unless there are multiple glitched dolphins, in that case tap a regular animal). Then, press the L or R until the arrow lands on the glitched dolphin. You will now be able to view its stats and go to Zookeeper mode. Note: It is best to save your game before attempting this, because the entire screen will turn black after you are done in Zookeeper mode. There is only one way to get rid of the glitched dolphins. First, build a sea animal tank. Second, try to move the glitched dolphins to the tank. Then, save the game. Finally, try to sell the glitched dolphin(s). Note: On the first try, your game will freeze.
