About a week ago, on September 24, a lioness living at Zoo Miami gave birth to a litter of three. Keepers say that the cubs are healthy and active, and weigh between 1.63 kilograms (3.59 pounds) and 1.75 kilograms (3.85 pounds).

According to Zoo Borns, the two males and the female are to stay clear of the public eye for at least 3 months.

Once they grow strong and confident enough, they'll get to move in with the rest of the pride, and visitors to the zoo will finally be able to see them.

The same source tells us that the lion cubs' mother is named Kashifa. Before moving in a den to give birth to this litter, she shared an enclosure with one other female, Asha, and two males, Jabari and Kwame.

Presently, zoo keepers are unable to say which of the males is the cubs' father.
