Security products maker Check Point has released the newest version of its products bundle - the ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 8.0, together with ZoneAlarm Pro and ZoneAlarm Antivirus. The new items promise to protect from threats that no other competitor manages to overthrow.

“Because criminals are becoming more sophisticated and rendering traditional security obsolete, we focused on digging more deeply and broadly to stop attacks that by-pass other security products,“ says Laura Yecies, vice president and general manager for Check Point's ZoneAlarm consumer division. “We also paid close attention to the full lifecycle of PCs and of malware, making sure users are protected during the early stages or start-up, where other security software typically can fall short. In addition, we put a great deal of emphasis on providing users with much more in-depth protection against identity theft than any other Internet security product.“ Yecies adds.

The Internet Security Suite offers a “Root&Boot” protection, as the company calls it, meaning that the product consists of a firewall to block threats and make the machine invisible to hackers, an antivirus, an anti-spyware tool, and other security items. Among them, the most relevant are the ID theft protection tool, which also reports on the daily activity registered to the bank accounts, and alerts customers whenever a fraud attempt threatens their e-banking account.

The additional layers of the suite contain anti-spam and anti-phishing tools that keep annoying messages away from users' inboxes, over 30 categories for parents to define in order to block content inappropriate for their children, protection for the wireless connection, whose vulnerabilities are known to be the cause of numerous attacks, and privacy protection (which blocks pop-ups, cookies, online profiling and cache information storage).

The product is available as of September 1, with the license for a single user priced at $49.95, and for three machines – at $69.95. It also has a trial version expiring 57 days after installation. The new ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite was tested in the Softpedia labs and is malware free. As usual, it can be safely downloaded here.
