Because being safe while browsing the Internet is vital for all of us, security companies around the world bring out more and more applications supposed
to help us. Check Point Software, the developer of the famous ZoneAlarm suite, rolled out a few days ago ZoneAlarm ForceField, a new "virtualized browser security solution" which could provide better security than any other application on the web. First of all, the developers plan to reach this goal using the virtualization technology which creates a virtual location related to the browser that allows you to be protected against web-based attacks.

"Surfing the Web remains a very dangerous endeavor as criminal hackers and bot herders increasingly corrupt websites, planting Web browser-based attacks used to steal personal information or plant malware on an unsuspecting public," said Charles Kolodgy, research director at IDC. "At this advance stage of proliferation tens of thousands of Web sites are infected by some form of malware, making consumers exceptionally vulnerable."

The application is compatible with both Windows XP and Windows Vista and can work with either Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. The program is quite easy to install and use because the 4MB package does not require restart and can be deployed in a matter of seconds.

Besides the main browser protection, ZoneAlarm ForceFiles also provides anti-phishing utilities, spyware site blocking, site rating to let you know if a website may or may not attempt to drop malware, dangerous download and keylogger protection and private browser mode to keep your private details away from unwanted access.

"Hackers today are exploiting widespread browser vulnerabilities to steal consumers' personal information, utilizing techniques that are unstoppable by traditional PC-based security products," said Laura Yecies, vice president and general manager of Check Point's ZoneAlarm consumer division. "By virtualizing the browser, and adding active security layers, ZoneAlarm ForceField provides the highest level of technology needed to stop Web attacks, without interfering with users' browsing experience."

Although I'm sure you know it, you can download the latest version of ZoneAlarm ForceField, plus many other software applications, straight from Softpedia.
