As the Westboro Baptist Church is intensifying its efforts to show the world that American soldiers' deaths abroad are God's way of saying America is too tolerant of the gay lifestyle, more counter-protesters are willing to stand up against the “hate church.”

WBC announced plans to picket a DuPont, Washington military base on Friday, prompting a Facebook campaign aimed to get counter-protesters to show up to dissuade them from further actions of the kind.

The campaign, “Zombie'ing Westboro Baptist Church AWAY from Fort Lewis!” turned out to be a hit, as the video above will confirm.

Only 8 members of the WBC showed up. There were also 300 zombies on site, eager to spread the word that the real God doesn't hate even if someone happens to be gay, which can't be said about WBC believers.

“We wanted to turn something negative around, into something people could laugh at and poke fun at. It was the easiest way to divert attention from something so hateful,” Melissa Neace, the counter-protester who organized the “zombie'ing” tells the press.
