Bart's owner believes that the reason the feline survived being buried alive was that its brother freed it

Just yesterday, we got to introduce you to a cat that somehow managed to survive being hit by a car and then buried alive by its owners, who simply assumed that the feline was dead and thus disposed of its body in a hole in the ground.

Bart's human, a man named Ellis Hutson currently living in the city of Tampa in Florida, US, now says that, all things considered, chances are that the only reason the feline pulled through all the ordeal it was forced to endure was that its brother lent it a helping paw.

How Bart ended up being a zombie cat

Ellis Hutson says that, earlier this month, he found Bart lying in a pool of blood in the middle of the street. The cat had obviously been hit by a car and was not moving.

The man and his spouse rushed Bart to a local veterinary clinic. Here, doctors examined the feline and told its owners that it was, well, dead. As it turns out, this was not the case. On the contrary, the feline was still very much alive.

Having returned from the veterinary clinic, Ellis Hutson and his wife did what any other pet owner would do if told that their cat was dead. Long story short, the couple buried their beloved Bart.

Their otherwise calm and peaceful life turned topsy-turvy about five days after the burial ceremony, when their supposedly lifeless cat found its way back home. That's right, Bart somehow freed itself from its grave and returned to its owners.

True, its jaw was broken and its left eye was badly injured, but at least it was alive. Once again, the cat was taken to an animal hospital. Doctors are now treating its wounds and say that the cat might actually make a full recovery.

Bart's brother might have helped it return from the dead

The cat's owners believe that their pet feline did not rise from its grave all on its own but got a little help from another cat that Bart happens to be really good friends with.

“We have two cats and they play together all the time and they roam around with each other. He might have went looking for his brother and dug him up,” Ellis Hutson said in an interview. If this is indeed what happened, Bart's buddy can and should be hailed as a hero.
