Tattoo model and androgynous model – a match made in fashion heaven
Brazilian label Auslander has just released brand new shots from the upcoming 2012 campaign, starring two of the hottest models of the moment: Andrej Pejic and Rico Genest, aka Zombie Boy.Pejic's resume happens to be one that would make even seasoned models hide their faces in envy.
Though he's a man, he's modeled for some of the biggest names in the industry, both for their women and men's collections.
Rico is just as famous. He became the Thierry Mugler muse and is now a legitimate catwalk model, aside from being a tattoo model, perhaps one of the most well known.
Put the two together in the same fashion campaign and you strike gold.
Andrej and Rico walked the catwalk earlier this year for the brand and the latest photos are a continuation of the same campaign, as Fashionista also notes.
The pics see the two hand in hand, modeling items for the brand while celebrating “otherness.”
In some shots, they seem to be flirting, while in some they stand apart as if not even noticing each other.
This is but the latest campaign to generate debate and some controversy from the two unlikely models.
Zombie Boy recently became the face of Dermablend, which sells a concealer that can cover even large tattoos and deep scars.
Pejic, on the other hand, has been doing the fashion circuit to great success. He's also getting a lot of media attention for doubts as to his orientation, which he still likes to keep a secret, telling a fashion mag his gender was “open to interpretation.”
“I know people want me to sort of defend myself, to sit here and be like, ‘I’m a boy, but I wear makeup sometimes.’ But, you know, to me, it doesn’t really matter. I don’t really have that sort of strong gender identity – I identify as what I am,” he said, as we also reported at the time.
