The defense has wrapped up its case in the Zimmerman trial for the 2012 murder of Trayvon Martin. Defendant George Zimmerman will not be testifying in the trial, report say.

According to CBS News, he told Circuit Judge Debra Nelson that he would not be taking the stand. The defense had put on only three days of testimony in what could be the trial of the year.

As I mentioned, Zimmerman claims to have killed Martin in self-defense. His mother and father have stated in court that their son was heard screaming on a 911 tape from the night of the murder.

The tape remains the biggest mystery in the trial, as Martin's mom also assures the jury that it is her son screaming on the recording.

"I told them absolutely, it's my son, George," Robert Zimmerman Jr. described.
