ZenithVault comes in three versions: Freeware, Enterprise and SaaS

ZenithSecure has launched a new database solution that’s said to be impossible to hack. In fact, the company says it’s the world’s most secure database solution. Available in three versions – Freeware, Enterprise and SaaS – ZenithSecure’s ZenithVault is designed to protect sensitive information such as credit card numbers, financial documents, patents and government secrets by leveraging automated secret sharing techniques.

First, the data is encrypted and a user-defined password acts as the encryption key. Then, the data is split and distributed across multiple servers and geographies using SSL or the Diffie-Hellman/Elliptic curve transport encryption.

To make sure the servers are protected against zero-day attacks and OS exploits, each of the machines runs a different operating system.

This way, if one of the servers is breached, the attacker can’t gain access to the data. Furthermore, the data-splitting is done at bit level, which makes it nearly impossible to retrieve any useful information.

For an attack to be successful, attackers would have to compromise at least three servers, each located at a different datacenter, and each running a different OS. Even so, they would only gain access to the encrypted data.

If more servers are added, the task becomes even more difficult.

In addition, the passwords set by users are also encrypted and split, the servers being designed to send out only the data bits associated with a certain password.

“We were inspired by the method employed by the United States government in securing its nuclear missile launch codes,” said Mihai Motocu, CTO of ZenithSecure.

“It's a technique known as ‘secret sharing’ where multiple secrets have to be combined together at the same time to gain access. This method has been known for decades and is mathematically proven to be highly secure. It's at the heart of ZenithVault and is an excellent defense against brute force, zero day and other malicious hacker attacks.”

The solution is available effective immediately. If you want to give it a try, the Freeware version can be downloaded from here for free.
